Circle Of Thorns music is written from real life experience. This is a 5 song acoustic rock cd of songs about ife & experiences as seen & felt by Steven Irons. While Circle Of Thorns is known as an alt metal band we wanted to release a 5 song acoustic cd in between our full cd's. The band members that recorded Circle Of Thorns "Wood" are Steven Irons , Jim Toscano , Rico Mancini & Sean Egan. Steven wanted to keep this cd organic & use only acoustic guitars, and decided to leave keyboards off this cd.
Here is a review from Rock Show Magazine. They were invited to come to Cool Music multimedia studios to review Circle Of Thorns "Wood"
Written by Donnie Tranchina, Rock Show Magazine-
Circle Of Thorns contacted me at Rock Show Magazine to attend an exclusive listening party for his new acoustic album entitled Wood, I had two questions; when, and where? The first song we heard was a song called Everything Is Beautiful, and beautiful it is. If you’re looking for bubble gum lyrics, you won’t find them here; dark lyrics that could only come from a person that lived them. Top that off with the most incredible guitar work I have ever heard. All these songs have incredibly catchy hooks, emotional vocals & 3 part vocal harmonies you dont really hear anymore. While sounding modern the songs seemed to capture a classic rock vibe from the days of the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin etc. The second track Everything Has Changed starts off, “I have been guilty of some crimes, I might look free, but I’m doin’ time.” The guitar solos on this track floored me. I’ve been in this business a long time, and my friends I’m here to tell you, make sure your sitting down the first time you give this a listen, because you will be floored also and that my friends is a good thing. I haven’t been floored in a long time; I needed this. Then with tracks three and four; I Keep Away, and Woke Up Alive Again & the last track on the cd, White Wave have some of the most beautiful & incredible acoustic guitar playing I have ever heard. Steve Irons has come full circle… Circle Of Thorns that is. P.S., This review was a pleasure to do because I stand behind this 100%! This CD kicks ass, enjoy.
