Album Notes

Circus Contraption is an honest-to-goodness, one-ring travelling circus based in Seattle, Washington. No circus worth its salt would venture out without a live band, and Circus Contraption has one of the best around, churning out loony-croony, quirky-jerky, gypsy carnival opera music.

\"Gallimaufry\" presents music from the show of the same name, which debuted in 2002. The show received glowing praise both at home in Seattle and on the road in cities such as Chicago, San Francisco, and Denver. From the stumble-drunk waltz of \"Lover\'s Trapeze\" to the blazing gypsy brass band romp of \"Wooly Hat,\" this CD evokes the sights and sounds of a decidedly off-kilter troupe of miscreants from the wrong side of town.

As a special bonus, this CD also includes a video of our acclaimed \"Opera Diva\" act, which won first place in the \"Pizzazz!\" talent show at Seattle\'s Bumbershoot Festival in 2003. Watch and listen in amazement!

I first came across Circus Contraption through bellydancers in San Francisco. Its the perfect for cabaret, burlesque, circus and bellydance performance with its haunting whistles and carnivalesque arrangements. I knew i had to have this album for myself. And for those bad days at work, Ode to my Employer really hits the spot!

Amazing is the best way to describe the Circus Contraption music. I got all four albums in one go and glad to have done so. Just a shame that I\'m going to have to wait some time before the 5th. As mentioned by others here the only downside to this particular cd is the shortness of its length. But still its full of the same brilliant quality of all their other albums. These guys are outstanding. Also a big thank you to Cd Baby for the site which allows folk to stumble so very easily over great finds such as the Circus Contraption!

I bought all three Circus Contraption c.d.s because I couldn't choose between them. LOVED this c.d. It's eerie and gorgeous, funny and heartwrenching, all in one.
