Performance Disc Seeks Out Performers!
author: Dean
Typically, a shortcoming for any "soundtrack" or show related disc is that it is closely associated with the performance that it was written for. Not the case with Peter Bufano's "Cirkestra!"
The music here indicates and inspires movement, fun and action. Just try to NOT get up and walk around on five foot stilts, ride down the street on a giraffe unicycle or have a pie fight with a friend to this disc!
The sound of the tracks are full, lush and evocative of both a circus and a cabaret! There are tunes that call to mind the sound of Spike Jones and Charlie Chaplin, but also of Kurt Weill... so, it's quite an eclectic mix!
For a unique listening experience that goes as well with Sunday Brunch as it does with Friday Night, you should give "Cirkestra" a try!
