Based in Jefferson City, Missouri (the capital for those who may not remember their geography), The Cisco Fix have been playing for local audiences since 2004. Singer and songwriter Schuyler Stegmann handles complaints from dissatisfied plumbers during the day, settling down to pick the guitar and scribe thoughtful lyrics by night. Joined by friends Scott Cisco (bass) and Bill Wood (drums and cymbals), the trio continues to develop new material. Bill cares for the intoxicated and otherwise ill and injured as an ER nurse, while Scott stewards Missouri's natural resources.
This album captures the quiet, contemplative Stegmann on tracks "Time Alone" and "Slippin Through the Cracks." The bright ode to love, "Sweet One" contrasts with "Gone From You," and there are many other songs for the listener who appreciates introspection and honesty. From "Some Day": "I walk for a little while, been screwed and lied to / Been a good man, or at least I've tried to / And I wonder where you are / And what you're going through / I want to see that far / Maybe you and I will walk there some day."
The album was recorded in Columbia, Missouri at a remarkable facility built and run by Pete Szkolka. Pete recorded and mixed the project, and is featured as organist on the track "Wait and See." Mastering was done by Bob Katz at Digital Domain.
We hope you enjoy the album.
