The Civilians was a Fort Worth, Texas based melodic rock band who made music from 1995 until their last show in January of 2000. Solid writing, tight arrangements, & polished musicianship powered their songs.
The members went their separate ways after 2000:
Frontman matthew reincarnated himself as the matthew show, releasing his critically acclaimed debut solo disc, 'texas', in 2003 on the Naive Music label. His much-anticipated second album, 'february,' was released in October 2008 on the Wampus label and can be streamed here: http://februarythealbum.com/
Guitarist Ron Geida continues to be active in the Fort Worth music scene with acts such as Villain Vanguard and Jasper Stone. http://www.myspace.com/villainvanguard
Bassist Layne McConnell has been a part of many great rock ensembles in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, and now pursues a solo career. He is currently recording his debut solo disc. http://www.laynesplace.com/
