Album Notes

Melding loops of synthesizers, fractal music generators, traditional instruments and found organic and environmental sounds, Chaos Is Your Destiny creates ambient, electronic, experimental music. Drawing from the beauty and complexity of fractal mathematics, the secret order inherent in chaos is explored not through darkness, dissonance and turmoil, but with sounds of asymmetrical iridescence. The total effect is a "truly original sound with experimental touches that is more in tune with the pioneers of modern electronic music than the bandwagon of current electronica styles and conventions."

With the release of ChaoticArtCircus Soundscapes, Chaos Is Your Destiny expertly captures the sense of awe and trepidation at the moment of first contact. Created for the performance art piece ChaoticArtCircus and premiered at the event in October 2001, Soundscapes was created as a rendition of humanity's first contact with alien species as well as our initial contact with new human cultures and ideas. Caught at the beginning of a new millennium where the latest technology is at odds with the oldest of problems - need - each composition moves the listener through the hope, fear, wonder and growth experienced at every new cultural encounter.

Kelli Wise created Chaos Is Your Destiny in 1999 in Olympia Washington to write music that isn't merely beat driven chill music, but haunting compositions that express the nature of being. "Ambient, but not New Age; experimental, but not noise; electronic, but always organic," is how she describes the results. "I like to use a lot of found sounds: machines, conversations, environmental noises. These parts of the aural environment that most people tune out, I incorporate into music."

"Math is the most beautiful of all the sciences. It is pure, incorruptible, and absolute," Kelli explains. "The name Chaos Is Your Destiny came about as I learned more about fractals and the math behind them. The simplest looking equations can describe extremely complex phenomenon, such as smoke curls and mountain ranges, and while ambient music may seem simple on the surface, it, too, is actually very complex."

Kelli Wise has been writing and recording music for over 10 years. She plays guitar and synths and knows her way around a computer based sound editor. She is a member of Tapegerm and writes a gear review column for EstrogenMusic.com.
