Album Notes

Cindy Kleinstuber Blevins is a harpist and composer residing in Colorado. Her harp compositions are played by harpists the world over, in settings from hospice to weddings, and everything in between.

HarpCentric denotes the fusion of live acoustic harp and synthesized (sampled) instruments. "WinterScape" contains a variety of essential holiday tunes, along with several Kleinstuber originals. The title track, WinterScape, is a seven and a half minute piece which weaves the melodies from the other 13 album tracks seamlessly into each other within an original composition. Here is what one musician wrote upon hearing this album track:

"Ah...I had a smile on my face from the first note! I see scenes when I listen to your music....This reminds me of a winter snow globe...every time I shake it...a different song and a different vignette appears...it is amazing what you can do, seamlessly connecting your original pieces with traditional beloved carols."

Ms. Blevins is the President of Blevins Harps, a company which hand-crafts 70 models of folk (lever) harps. Blevins harps are played and loved throughout the world. The harp heard on this recording is a Blevins Consort 36.
