Corinne Kelley Collier

A native of a little town located in Central Alabama, known as “Sylacauga” and born a twin and the 4th of 12 siblings, Corinne began singing professionally at the age of 15.
She and her sisters toured all over the state of Alabama, North and South Carolina singing God’s praise.

She attended Talladega College where she won a trip to the Art Institute of Chicago for her individual artwork and a collage that she helped the blind students from a neighboring school to prepare. These works were put on display at the Art Institute of Chicago, ILL.

She joined a jazz band in order to finance her education and to help her family and was blessed with a trip to Atlanta, GA where she was guest of the famous contralto opera singer, Lyontine Price. Later she was introduced to the R & B group, “The Impressions”.
As you can see, she was steadily being exposed to all kinds of music but during this time she always stayed grounded in the Lord. This was her mothers’ prayer.

In 1967 she moved to Hartford, CT where she was discovered singing in the church choir by a talent agent and joined a R&B band. She says: “I toured with the band all over Jamacia, W.I., South Carolina, Mass. and throughout the U.S., however, something was missing. I felt incomplete. Little did I know, God was blessing me with my Soul Mate, an extremely talented and gifted husband, my then and current musical director/producer, Manny”. She opened for such performers as: Bobby Blue Bland, The Soul Children, Sam and Dave and Ben E. King. She performed at the Urban Impact Summits and Dr. Bobby Jones International Gospel Artist Retreats and had several televised performances on Bobby Jones Gospel on the Word Network. She performed at the Annual Gospel Festival held in Bushnell Park in Hartford, CT and New York.

Although she sang R&B for many years, she never left her Gospel roots. For in her heart, she knew that this is where she belonged and really wanted to be. Though in the world, she was never of the world. What kept her grounded throughout the years was her faith and knowing that God walked with her. Through song, she could lift someone’s burdens, put a smile on their faces and bring joy to their hearts. She believes that all of her life’s journeys have brought her to this very day. Because she was blessed with multiple talents, she said that she had to wait on the Lord to reveal to her, her true calling.

For many years she and her husband have been writing and producing for others, now
