Album Notes

Claddagh was formed in November, 2004, and is already acclaimed for their exciting approach to traditional Irish music. This seven member group is well on the way having made a significant impact on the Colorado music scene. The players bring a diverse musical background from bluegrass, folk, rock, chamber, and old-time to blend into a fascinating kaleidoscope with a sound footing in the Irish tradition. Claddagh blends flutes, fiddles, hammered dulcimer, guitars, bass, bodhran, penny whistle, and mandolin into familiar music with amazingly unique arrangements.

Start with the age-old Irish melody and toss in a few kick-butt surprises. Multiple harmonies, multiple voicing, and high energy. That's Claddagh. It's Irish music played vigorously.

"Claddagh really knows how to lay down down jigs and reels. Seven musicians dole out frothy doses of Irish and Scottish merriment; this band is ideal for family fun." - Tonya Bina, Winter Park Manifest

"Hi energy . . . great stuff . . . really fantastic!" - Cindy Reich, KRFC-FM, Fort Collins

"This exciting new Irish band is highly entertaining and a real crowd pleaser." - Chris Moore, Fontenot's, Winter Park

"This sure beats rock and roll!" - Fan at Beaver Creek

One of the best in contemporary Celtic music.

Listen to this CD only if you want to hear what tight harmonies on traditional instruments playing classic and modern Celtic music is all about. Claddagh has done a remarkable job. Become one of their fans now so that -- when they are really well-known -- you can say "I have been a fan since they first started!"

We saw Claddagh in concert and were very impressed with the show. Dave Naples is the ringleader. He has talent! And Becky Shaw! She has talent and more. Becky was just incredible. You don’t get to see the professionalism and showmanship of the stage show on the CD, but oh that music! We especially liked On The Pitch and Captain OKane. It's probably the way O'Carolan wanted it played.

Awesome to think Claddagh could get it together like this in such a short time. Nobody done it like this before. Nice addition to my collection.
