ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Claire On A Dare's debut album is both raw and lush and varied in style . It contains a sound very distinct of the San Jose Indie Rock band . The Album kicks off with the aptly titled Pulverized, a hard rocker and is followed by the quirky pop of (Your Eyes Are Like ) Neon Signs , which is reminiscent of the first Cars Album . Go Numb is one of the more intriguing songs,It was written by lead singer Raya Ghajar , it also rocks but is more indicative of the bands melodic side . Mans World is a ballad seemingly about the battle of the sexes that features some fluid lead guitar by Stephen Dix. Isolation 101 is written from the perspective of an Isolation expert and is pure pop/punk . Asunder is a fan favorite and represents the bands shoegaze instincts . Crash and Burn and No Regrets are also heavy pop/ punk with a snarl , both are examples of drummer Mike Uharriet's steady hard hitting style . Wavelength is an acoustic ballad , very melodic and catchy . The band close the CD with 2 songs that represent all the bands influences , the sexy Pleasure For Pain and The yearning of Distant Star which feature very melodic bass lines by Nick Santana. As far as debut albums go , The Wild , The Beautiful and The Damned is a treasure. Also available with the purchase of the album is the bonus cut In Your Arms which features the pedal Steel guitar and a lead vocal turned in by the bands former backing vocalist Jamie Cain , It is a hidden jem . The bands performance on KZSU is also included with the purchase of the physical CD as well as the download. Well worth the asking price.
