With undeniably compelling emotive power, understating the dark, complex shades of narrative that follow, the overall sound is somber and lulling, pensively emotional and haunting.

notes
"Your New Boundaries" is the brooding debut from Cambridge, MA-based
Clairvoyants, a seasoned five piece group assembled around singer/songwriter Brian Dunn.
From its opening line,"That city fucked you up.." there is an undeniably compelling emotive power, understating the dark, complex shades of narrative that follow. The overall sound is somber and lulling, pensively emotional. It is as haunting as it is haunted.
The songs hold slowed, echoing memory, distorted by reflection that makes the bitter appear lovely. In them, the communication of loss is given a pure form, while longing, injury and the threats of aloneness are voiced.
"Your New Boundaries is a world unto itself..... It is an amazing and
important album, and marks the arrival of a true and unique talent." - Jesse Perkins
"Your New Boundaries" was produced by Colin Rhinesmith and Brian Dunn at
their studio, The Longhouse. Colin engineered and played keyboard
instruments. Joe McMahon played double bass. Steve Scully played drums.
Barry Reise (who has played with the likes of Lionel Hampton and Joe
Lovano in the course of his long career) guests on trumpet and flugelhorn.
Clairvoyants have played with Arab Strap, Thalia Zedek (Come), Songs:Ohia,
Damon and Naomi, Shannon Wright, Wheat, Mark Kozelek (Red House Painters), and Azure Ray, among others.
They will tour nationally following the release.
Clairvoyants will be featured on Amos House 2- a collection of exclusive songs by Bright Eyes, Isobel Campbel (Belle and Sebastian), Elliot Smith and others- to be released this winter.
"Your New Boundaries" is a co-release from Badman Recording Co. (Mark Kozelek, Rebecca Gates, Lanterna...) and Wishing Tree Records (Delphine, Skating Club...).

Incredible
author: Kelly JonesI was in tears by the end of the first song. The emotions I felt while listening to Your New Boundaries were strong and hard to place. You almost can't do anything while this CD is on, it compels you to slow down and sit and really hear what is being played. My favorites from this CD are "To Reassure", "Yes, I Waited a Year", "The Hungry Ghosts", and "Song Against Suicide".
Very melodic, sad and beautiful all at the same time
author: Jessica NormandtThese songs are very soothing. I like the movement in the songs along with the heartbreaking lyrics. Excellent cd. It can really take you away from everything.
unexplainable emotion in each and every song...
author: Katie GledhillThis music gives me chills. The steady and vibrant sounds of each song and the vocals are amazing! Definitely something to check out!
