CHRISTY LEE ANDERSON was a singer/songwriter, residing in the Black Hills of South Dakota when she passed away in 2005.
Christy grew up in the desert southwest where she cut her teeth playing bass and guitar in new wave and punk bands.
A summer tour with a Tucson, AZ. group, landed her in the Hills. Christy's music has taken her all over the U.S. and most of the world playing with various groups.
During her years as a touring musician she had the pleasure of opening for many world-renowned artists including Sawyer Brown, Black Flag, Charlie Pride, Kathy Mattea, X, The Go Go's, Lee Greenwood and many others.
Christy plays just about every genre of music imaginable and this is definitely reflected in her song writing.
Her new CD "Awakening" runs the gamut from Country to Ska to funky R & B and is a must have for all kinds of music fans.
Reviews
"Christy Lee is really a force of nature indeed and it's great to know there is still a girl around singing great rock songs written by herself, especially in these days when this is an absolute rarity.
Christy is a powerful performer but she also knows how to create an atmosphere with a series of great ballads such as "Same Time, Next Life" and above all the wonderful "The Moon Outside Your Window".
Massimo Ferro - Radio Voce Spazio - Italy
"Awakening is a VERY fine release! A bit like Aretha Franklin goes Nashville meets the Carpenters."
Lord Litter - Internet Radio DJ, "Lord Litters World of Music" - Germany
"This CD was doing something to me.... the songs are well written... and despite my visions of different superstars, it was very original. Then it struck me. Christy Lee Anderson is drawing from the same powers that enrich the few. Some record companies must have dropped the ball here. The best music releases take immense amounts of work by artists pouring all they have into writing and producing them. This CD must have been painful for Christy Lee Anderson... it's no less than terrific."
Dave Blackledge - Singer Songwriter.ws
"...I feel I have to start out this story by saying I just got a really good CD. Really good. It's called Awakening by Christy Lee Anderson."
Rochelle Hagel - Panache Magazine
"If this CD don't win a truckload o' gold at the CMA's next year, there's somethin' mighty wrong."
Bruce Williams - Williams and Ree, "The Indian and the White Guy"
