Clarias has just release their debut full-length album, "RELATED SPACE." Co-produced by Clarias and Will Holland at E-man/Renaissance Studios in Boston, "RELATED SPACE" is a symbol of different personal and musical experiences coming together and living in a related space to create novel, inspired music. For the mixing of one of the band's signature songs, "You Might Remember," Clarias teamed with famed recording engineer Jeff Juliano. Juliano's recent projects include John Mayer's Room for Squares, Jason Mraz's Waiting for My Rocket to Come , O.A.R.'s In Between Now and Then, and Dave Matthews Band's Listener Supported.
Formed at a small Northeast college, Clarias began as a group of friends playing music and has grown into an act that has played at a variety of Boston's famous music venues like Harpers Ferry, The Middle East, TT the Bear's Place and The House of Blues. The band has shared the stage with acts such as The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Addison Groove Project, Stephen Kellogg, and Princes of Babylon.
Clarias originally recorded a 5-song demo CD called Intro at Zing Studios in Westfield, MA. The demo was recorded quickly and sold mostly at shows. However, the disc gained some attention across the Northeastern US with major commercial radio stations like WBOS 92.9FM and WXRV 92.5FM featuring songs from the demo in new music segments. Clarias began playing larger shows as well, at venues like The MDC Hatchshell, and quickly sold out of the first thousand CD's of INTRO that were pressed. They also devoted time to playing events for charities such as the MA Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and AIDS Walk Boston. The band toured feverishly, playing many colleges and universities up and down the Northeast and into New York.
The band was invited to headline a showcase at the NEMO 2002 conference in front of label reps, publicists, and many important industry people. For the event, Clarias recorded during another shotgun style studio session to cut a 3-song demo CD which was distributed at NEMO 2002.
And now, Clarias has completed their long-awaited first full-length album, Related Space.
Clarias will be taking to the road late-summer 2003 to support the release of Related Space.

This band's passion for creating music comes through clearly in "Related Space." The band is tight, the songs flow seamlessly and the energy never runs out. The last song, "LIke You Could Care," is especially beautiful. This album is appealing to many while still rich with musical intelligence. I recommend it to all!
