Album Notes

Peace from the Porch executive producer, Christy Claxton, used to be a singer/songwriter. She recorded a few CDs. In 2000, she recorded "Out of Nowere," which is a sophisticated, smart album that showcases Claxton's powerful writing and voice. With the album's release Claxton developed a cult following that still follows her today. She's just harder to catch behind a guitar and microphone these days. In fact, a hard copy of "Out of Nowhere" is impossible to catch because it's out of print and only available via digital distribution. Those who own an actual CD treasure it; not only because of it's beautiful production by veteran studio pro Mark Hallman, but because it is an artistic representation of a performer who left center stage to slip behind the scenes and help promote independent music via her concert series, Bear Creek Concerts, and then through the Peace from the Porch project. Now Claxton spends her time promoting music and raising money for worthy causes like the American Cancer Society and agencies that support victims of domestic violence. She's an articulate, passionate voice who is known for some of the best artist introductions, press releases, one-liners, and arguments for WHY independent music is worth supporting, and she knows how to make the musicians help her bring peace to those who need a little bit of compassion. The download of "Out of Nowhere" is worth it because the music explains what the promoter won't tell you about herself. The production sets the standard for a level of quality that follows Claxton in whatever she does, so studio snobs will love it if Claxton's name is on it.
