Album Notes

Clay likes to sing and play the guitar, spending hours a day in his San Francisco studio. He writes and records a lot of songs incorporating his guitar work, lyrics and harmonies with a backdrop of simple percussive elements.

Previously, Clay performed with Blue Sky Roadster. He was also a lead member of Teeny and recorded for Ardent Studios in Memphis with Techno Squid Eats Parliament (dubbed "Worst band name ever" by Mike Baehr of Copacetic Zine).

All Music Guide called the music of Clay Bell "stridently hooky power pop" and said his songs were "a real find."

Billboard Music described what he was doing a few years back as "anglo-smart power pop with punk undertones." He's decided to take that as a compliment.

I put it in my car CD player and play it as I drive around Houston. The songs are provocative and lovely.
