GREG CLAYBORN 8 CLAYBORN AGAIN


The eclectic style of Greg Clayborn's music is the first thing that will draw listeners in on his debut solo project "Clayborn Again." All should be forewarned that just when you think you've got his musical modus operandi figured out on this musical jambalaya, you'll find yourself listening to the entire compilation another three or four times, continually adjusting your previous evaluations. From the introduction of the glorious stomp-your-feet "Coming Home," to the unexpected Quiet Storm influenced final offering "A Match Made In Heaven," there is literally a song for everyone to enjoy.

Obviously not content on following in the footsteps of the current onslaught of cookie cutter hip-hop and R&B flavored Christian music acts; Clayborn has managed to deliver a CD that pays considerable homage to his Rock, Classical, Pop, Disco and Jazz influences. Clayborn Again is quite an evolution from his early days performing in small venues in his hometown San Diego, California. Playing with his own garage band called "Cruise Control," Greg was in high gear for several years in Southern California. Unfortunately, like most young acts seeking national attention, the road to fame was anything but smooth. For the young musician, the personal sacrifices left him disenchanted and he eventually decided to pursue a career considerably away from the limelight. After graduating from DeVry University in 1995, he began a career in Technology.

Greg continued writing and found that the professional world he suddenly found himself immersed in was an excellent proving ground to lead him back into the music business. After careful consideration, he decided to turn his attention back to the gift that God bestowed upon him. This time, with a new fervor and even more to write and sing about through what Greg calls a musical ministry. The ministry he now affectionately called "Message Groove." According to Greg, the CD is entitled Clayborn Again because "it was inspired by the Grace of God as I once was lost but now I am found and my life has been renewed. The reconciling of my life back to Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior has given me another chance to get it right and so I am Clayborn Again."
