Album Notes

Andy started playing guitar aged 7, when the guitar was bigger than
him. First classical guitar concert aged 12, later studied with John
Williams. "John was amazing, apart from his legendary talent he always
encouraged us to do something new with the classical guitar...."

Student years in Manchester infused in Andy the urge to write, let it all
out. Played for the Royal Opera company (Covent Garden), and also
with full orchestra. Graduated from the Royal Northern College of
Music, formed a duo with fellow student Paul Dwyer and gigged all over
the UK; also in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dubai, Cyprus, Germany, Africa
and Turkey.
Lived for several years in Turkey, sold over 3,000.000 records in
collaboration as arranger and writer with other artists. Andy and Paul
became the 1st English duo to release an album singing original self-
penned songs in Turkish, and became a household name in Turkey,
with their own TV show, and reviews in Billboard magazine and National
Press.
Also released 2 Albums with Sony in Europe, producing 3 radio hits
and a tour with Suzanne Vega.

”I could say I hear echoes of Mark Knopfler, John Lennon, Elvis
Costello in his music – and I do – but that would be unfair praise,
because he has his own sound – original, sympatico. He’s an
extraordinary musician, a superb guitarist and vocalist, but what
impresses me are his lyrics, full of genuine feeling and sly wit ”
Rex Roberts, Film Journal International, New York City.

Andy is now living in New York City, writing, recording and gigging.
Travelling and playing in Montenegro, Dublin, Sicily and Turkey this summer, with a new album out in the Spring of 2007, produced together with Rod Hui (Aretha Franklin, James Brown, George Benson, David Gilmour).

Incredibly powerful folk pop. Great compositions and instruments. Some songs remind me of Bob Dylan. A very special distinct sound. Quite 70s...

Andy's music is great listening pleasure. His voice reminds me of Mark Knopfler of the Dire Streets. His guitar skills are beyond comparison. My favorite songs on The Wandering Stranger record would be "Sunshine Junkie", "Wolf!", "One World" and "Autumn in September" which was written after the 9-11 attacks in New York. I listen to this CD over and over again. It makes some good road music. When you've listened to the CD a few times, the music really gets to you and you feel the beat. This is real music and not just some commercialized tunes. Hoping to get more great songs from wandering Andy real soon. Joe.
