ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Just to listen to this honey soaked pure country voice, and take one look at this matinee-idol like face, which lights up when he talks about music, and you know that Clay Underwood is destined to be a star.

Growing up on his family farm, just south of Louisville, Kentucky, Clay was raised on a diet of hard work and perseverance. Farming may have put food on the table but music fed his soul.

Clay got his first taste of stardom at an early age, when at five years old he prodded his mother to let him enter a talent contest at the famous Lincoln Jamboree in Hodgenville, Kentucky. To the surprise of his mother and the audience, Clay won two rounds and fifty dollars.

It wasn't until his early twenties that music became his muse again. While holding a day job in a factory he started performing around Kentucky, becoming a regular and building a huge fan base on the local jamboree circuit.

The expeience playing weekly Jamborees also fine tuned his performing chops. "A lot of the audience were regular attendees" remembers Clay, "I always felt a responsibility to keep my show fresh and exciting for them. That's my job as an entertainer, to give the best show I can everytime I walk out on that stage."

Clays story is rich with classic tales of "dues paying" and musical moonlighting. He is true to his country roots and loyal to his fans. "I love music, and if I touch one person with my singing then the trials and tribulations are worth it." Clay Underwood is like a chunk of Kentucky coal from his home state. He is a diamond in the rough whose time has come to shine.

And shine he does on his first release entitled simply, "Clay Underwood." A spectacular showcase of his God given talent. Not only will country music fans take notice of his unique talent and charisma, but anyone who appreciates good music will be taken for an enjoyable ride, from the beginning of this CD right through the end.
