Album Notes

"The lyrics and music come together to add up to that magical something that is greater than the sum of its parts." (Rick's Cafe, May 06)

Clear Blue Betty emerged in 2002 out of the highly respected Madison music scene and has quickly risen through the ranks to become a Wisconsin-music powerhouse. Their freshman release, Never Been a Rebel, earned them the 2005 Madison Area Music Award (MAMA) for Best Rock Album, and their 2006 sophomore release, Write Your Name in the Sky, has already been described as "a giant step forward ... putting Clear Blue Betty in the running as one of Madison's hottest groups" (Rick's Cafe, May 06).

The band is led by "the straightforward local rockers' not-so-secret weapon" (Isthmus, April 06), Beth Kille, who was recently dubbed the Queen of the Madison Rock Scene (John Urban, of Urban Theater, UPN 14) and earned the 2006 MAMA for Best Female Vocalist.

Their eclectic and fun shows can feature anything from powerful funk rock beats to catchy pop-rock hooks, from acoustic jams to distorted punk rock. Clear Blue Betty creates an instant connection and lasting impression with the fans they have entertained at over 60 Midwest venues.

Write Your Name in the Sky (2006) was released in April 2006 to a sold-out Majestic Theatre crowd.

Includes:
- "Long Way Tonight", winner of the Best Female Vocalist 2006, Madison Area Music Awards
- "Bulletproof", a "screaming stunner with Beth Kille in full-out rocker mode" (The Onion, April 06)
- "Come Over", a "near-perfect execution of a power ballad" (Rick's Cafe, May 06)

Rock and Roll You'll Love to Listen To

This cd has a great mix of songs that really move and also lovely rock ballads, all very well put together. Lead singer Beth has a voice that really soars, and draws you into every song. Lyrically, pretty much every song has at least one rock-and-roll cliche that's been said at least a hundred thousand times... but then it'll be followed by three lines that you've never heard said that way before. If you ever get the chance to see them live, don't miss out - they're amazing! My favorite song on this album is Come Over :

Very nice follow up to Never Been A Rebel!

Great new CD from Clear Blue Betty! The band is in top form and the CD features some interesting guests like Madison musician Sean Michael Dargan, Charlie Victor from Bascom Hill, and even a gospel choir. Days Like These and Small Talk are my current favorites. I hear hints of Neil Young in some of the songs - this is an impressive, summery-sounding CD. Great job, Beth, Doug, Rob, Tony, and Jim!
