The Birth Of A Band
Roger Fisher and Mike Derosier were among the founding members of
international rock group, Heart. They provided the foundation for all
of Hearts' early hits - most notably, Barracuda, with one of Roger's
famous riffs recently sampled on the 2005 Eminem album Encore.
Rick Knotts was half the firepower from the guitar-driven rock
band,Rail. His group won the first-ever MTV basement tapes awards
and went on to tour extensively with Van Halen in support of Rail's
heavy-rotation MTV videos, Hello and 1,2,3,4.
Lynn Sorensen is also Paul Rodgers (Bad Company, The Firm, Queen)
bassist and a very sought after musician, also playing with
Sir-Mix-a-Lot.
For these four accomplished musicians to team up with newcomer, British
singer/songwriter Mike Curley-he must have shown them something great.
Mike Curley, hailing from Birmingham, England writes profound lyrics
that touch on some of the most important aspects of any person's
personal experience. His melodies touch the soul and move an inward
place that is all too often dormant.
The five of them, in a spirit perfectly befitting their collective
personalities, are called CLEVER BASTARDS. Their musicianship is
astounding and has resulted in a debut CD entitled,THE GREAT
UNCONFORMITY.
Cb's have currently been enjoying rotational airplay on a number
of northwest radio stations - played sold out Seattle shows - Opened
for Reo Speedwagon - Styx - Foreigner at the Gorge Amphitheater in
Eastern WA, and will be closing out the Sonoma Film Festival in April.
The album is available worldwide on iTunes and other well known digital
distribution outlets and a CD / DVD " Meet The Bastards " will be avialable shortly via podcast.
