Album Notes

The Gutterball EP was the first release by Cliff Meekins in 1999 on GSA Records. The original recordings were tracked by Mark Spencer at Micro-Star Records and produced by Cliff and Mark. Album art and photography for the EP was done by Erika Meekins (Cliffs wife). The EP also features Joseph Meekins, Cliffs new born son on Track four "Trinity Soap" (the cry baby)

This music is a great example of Christian Alternative Rock of the mid to late nineties and includes a powerful cover of the hymn "Amazing Grace" that will have new listeners attention from the start, "This ain't your Mamas Amazing Grace" - CM 1999

The original EP was followed up by The GutterBall album later in 2000 and featured many of the songs here with new additions to become signature tracks in Cliffs Christian music.

Eventually Cliff and Erika went on to form their own band together titled Earl Clifton and The Pin-Ups making their debut in the secular music world in 2005. Although his new music is rugged and primal, Cliff is still full of great songs and has many more albums to come, so be sure to check out Earl Clifton and The Pin-Ups music and if you get a chance, be sure to see them play live if they visit your town! Much of his new music is actually short stories about their family to include even their pets!

If your looking for new Christian Alternative Rock that you may have missed from the sound and spirit of that time-line, this is a must for your collection! -GSA Records
