Cliff Wagner was raised in Greenwood, Mississippi, home of blues legend Robert Johnson. His first instrument was his grandmother's banjo-uke (he was 7 years old). He started playing 5-string banjo at 11, and also picked up guitar. He played with his father, who plays stand-up bass, in a local bluegrass band in Mississippi until he moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music. While in Boston he played traditional music in Harvard Square and the subway for a living with partner Nathan Phillips. He also fronted the Roots-Blues band 10W40.
He and the band moved to NYC. There he started playing banjo in local bluegrass heroes Drinkin' and Cheatin' with mandolinist Bob Grant, formerly of the Bad Livers, now with Tim Graves and Cherokee. He moved to Calif. two years ago and played with the popular Southern California band The Redliners before starting his own group. He has won first and placed in the Blythe banjo, fiddle, and band competitions the last two years.
Cliff plays banjo and fiddle and sings lead for Cliff Wagner and The Old #7.
Jesse Harris plays flat pick guitar and sings tenor. He born and raised in Southern California. He's played with Gregg Harris, his father, formerly of the Burrito Brothers. Jesse also plays alt country with many of So.Cal's well-known artists.
Patrick Sauber, the newest member of the band, is a multi-instrumentalist . He plays mandolin, banjo, and Cajun accordion. He also performs with Richard Greene, and his father, Tom Sauber, who is a nationally known old time fiddler and claw hammer banjo player of "Tom, Brad, and Alice." Patrick plays mandolin for "The Old #7."

Great old time music
author: Zach Miracle
Excellent musicianship and poignant lyrics. Highlights are the title track and "Little White Chapel." I only wish the vocal track had been a little louder and cleaner on the recording, but all in all, this is an outstanding addition to any blugrass fan's collection.

Cliff Wagner - Take me back to the delta
author: Bud Midgett
This is an excellent CD with original music. The picking is crisp and the vocals flowing. "Little White Chapel", "East Virginia" and Take me Back To the Delta" are great songs and worth the cost of this CD alone.
