SugarBuzz is the debut album from the Canadian band The Clinton Administration. It is an instrumental album featuring Clinton Swanson (saxophones), Colin Spence (Hammond organ), Tony Ferraro (drum kit), and Kelly Fawcett (electric bass). The band is based out of the West Kootenays (a very rural part of the world) in the southeastern corner of the province of British Columbia in western Canada.
All the music on their debut release is original, composed by Clinton Swanson and arranged and produced collectively by the band. The tunes vary in pace, rhythm, and style. The goal of each tune is to present the feel of a story. Through composition, arrangement, and improvisation the band is working towards giving each track a sensation of starting in one place and landing at another.
The band came together quite quickly after Clinton Swanson and Kelly Fawcett returned to the Kootenays in 2007. After eight months of gigging the album was recorded completely live off the floor at Out The Back studios in Nelson BC. There are no overdubs on this album. It is raw.
This is a very creative group of musicians that loves playing music together. Their second release for Big Fir Records will come out in the fall of 2009.
The Clinton Administration hopes you enjoy the album and thanks you for your support of creative live music.
