Bosca Ceoil & Fiddle is a recording of Irish traditional music by Éamonn Costello (button accordion) and Cathal Clohessy (fiddle). Rodney Lancashire joins them as a guest musician on five tracks, playing bouzouki and mandolin. On a number of tracks Cathal and Éamonn experiment with tempo, dynamics, and counter melodies. On other tracks they have recorded what might be called more ‘traditional’ settings of tunes. They have also composed a number of pieces on the recording; some of these pieces are very much in the Irish traditional idiom while others are more contemporary in style.
As well as the wealth of music on this CD, the CD also comes with a twenty page booklet [only available with CD]. This booklet contains information concerning the history and origin of the tunes on the CD; making "Bosca Ceoil and Fiddle" a resource for musicologist and all those with an interest in Irish traditional music.

Brilliant recording from two accomplished musicians
author: Jonathan
Very fine recording of box and fiddle with nice solo tracks from each player. Fine duet playing as well.
