Album Notes

Hello everyone here is the info on my new original country cd. You can purchase and download my original songs recently recorded in Nashville February 2008 right here. Ray Walker, the Legendary Bass singer from the Jordanaires, was my producer .Grammy Award winning Engineer Tom Pick recorded and mixed the songs with me at Nashville's Merit Studios.Tom was hired by Chet Atkins to be RCA's Chief Engineer for 15 years and recorded some of the greats at RCA'S Studio B ,including Elvis,Waylon Jennings,Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson . The Jordanaires provided some beautiful vocal harmony and we had a great group of legendary Nashville studio musicians for the music tracks:Jimmy Capps acoustic guitar and session leader (Legendary Grand Ole Opry musician),Mike Chapman on electric bass (Garth Brooks's Bass Player) ,Gene Chisum on Drums (Played on Elvis's recordings Kentucky Rain,In the Ghetto,Suspicious Minds),Gary Primm on Piano and strings (Award winning Nashville session player) Tommy White on steel guitar(Grand Ole Opry and award winning steel player),Herbert Hoot Hester on Fiddle and Mandolin(Grand Ole Opry Musician and session player),Gregg Galbraith on Electric Guitar (Legendary studio player and Grand Ole Opry musician),Michael Black (Accomplished session harmony vocalist) and Tom Flora(Background singer for George Strait ) .During this Nashville session I decided to record brand new versions of 3 songs from my demo Cd that I had recorded in Ft. Lauderdale entitled Take Me Back.I am very happy I took the time to redo these songs in Nashville.I believe you will enjoy the traditional country sound we captured with some very special guest star players. Pete Wade on electric guitar (Legendary session man and Grand Ole Opry Musician)on Lonely on the Road,Take me Back,Do it and acoustic solo in Spanish Guitar. Hargus Robbins (Legendary Hall of Fame Session Piano Player) on Lonely on the Road ,Take me Back Do it and Spanish Guitar .Billy Lineman Upright String Bass (Legendary acoustic Bass session player and Grand Ole Opry Musician) on Lonely on the Road Tonight,Take Me Back ,Do it ,and Spanish Guitar . I think you will really enjoy the mix of contemporary and traditional sounding songs on my cd.The songs are all about learning as you go.That's the good stuff.Thank you for your support. Chris

Classic Country Music
author: Sean B. and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team

Chris Macdonald and his album, "No Misconception," show off a collection of good old fashion Country songs that feature his deep yet velvety singing voice. "No Misconception" kicks off the album and is a faced paced Country song replete with backup singers and wonderful fiddle playing. "She Likes Spanish Guitar" is a slow moving and old-fashioned sounding Country song in which Macdonald croons about a girl he loves. "Do it, Don't Talk About it" is a quicker, fun song that features some excited piano playing and might just make one want to square dance. This is an album created for those who appreciate the timeless approach to Country music, with simpler sounds and a high level of focus on the singer's voice and what he has got to say. If you are one who appreciates that classic Country and Western sound, then "No Misconception" is an album you should own.
