Coastal Bend hails from the coastal plains of south Texas and plays rock and country rock originals with a good old fashion set up of guitars, drums, bass and keyboards. Clever lyrics relevant for today, some ironic, nice rock rhythms, spikey drums and solid vocals by well traveled musicians raised on everything from Elvis (Costelo that is) and the Band to John Prine and Bach make Coastal Bend an eclectic pleasure. Songwriter T. Hudson has roots in blues, soul and rock and a day job in academia. Heady arrangements without too much fuss leave the instruments such as spot on lead guitar work, and the vocals, including Lucinda Williams-esque feature singer Dee Dee, alive and accessible.
