Album Notes

Also available from James Cobb:

Earlier in 2007, James released a CD of all-original classical guitar music. "One Suite Day with the Island Etudes" is an important contribution to the solo guitar repertoire, both for students of the instrument and concert artists worldwide. The album begins with the 4-movement piece "One Suite Day", followed by the 10 progressive and pedagogical "Island Etudes". The writing is strongly Spanish and South American influenced with an eclectic Caribbean flavour. This CD is now available for purchase and download. Sheet music is available by request at jcclassicalguitar@yahoo.com

BIO and More

James Cobb grew up in a musical family. He began with violin at age 5, moving on to guitar at 12 and singing the entire time (not continuously, of course). After earning his degree in classical guitar performance from The University of Delaware in 1981, he continued composing, songwriting, and performing as a career in many places around the USA and the U.S. Virgin Islands. During his high school and college years, James also became a very accomplished harmonica player and incorporated this into his performances in various rock & blues bands over the years.

He is a touring member of A1A, The Official Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show. The James Cobb Project (JCP) is an all-original smooth-jazz band. Check them out at www.myspace.com/thejcp for more information. Beginning around 1986 he expanded into the field of audio engineering - both for himself and fellow musicians - which led to an additional career as a record producer/engineer at Real 2 Reel Studios in Jonesboro, GA. He has worked with many well-known artists and bands including rock legends Kansas and Collective Soul.

Mr. Cobb’s music has appeared in numerous films and DVD’s including Disney’s “The Country Bears” and the Jim Fleigner film “Rounding First”. As a studio musician, he has played on countless recordings throughout the southeast.
