In mid 2007, Codebreaker’s full length album “Exiled!” was self-released…
Since then, the group has earned a fine underground reputation amongst crate digging nerds, fussy music critics & indie dance party circuits alike. Very few groups can lay claim to that. Their trademark sounds have earned high marks from the Washington Post, Pitchfork, gigs with the likes of Chromeo & Yelle to The Twelves, collaborations with Kathy Diamond, Hercules & Love Affair’s Nomi, french legend Marc Gauvin, with remixes from Miami Horror, Jimmy Edgar & Liquid Pegasus on the new imprint, Disco Demolition Records.
Well Codebreaker’s back with a criminally infectious single release, “Follow Me”
“Follow Me” manages to harness the best qualities of italo funk, disco, electro & early filter house, all under one roof…
So much so, that it grabbed the attention of The Juan MacLean (DFA/NYC), Bottin (Italians Do It Better/Venice) & The Outrunners (Valerie/FR) for remixing duties.
The group’s brainchild/frontman Steven Hawley describes the single, “Shamelessly anthem-ic, warmly futurist & magical.”
With “Follow Me” dropping, a whole host of collaborations, remixes from & for some of dance music’s most exciting, tasteful artists soon on the way, Codebreaker are leading the way in 2009.
Follow them.
