Album Notes

Cody McCarver, from Dunlap, Tennessee, is country's next breakout artist. Outlaw Country and Southern Rock are in his blood, and you can hear it in his deep, rich voice, and throughout the diverse song selections. Cody’s self-titled debut album was produced by the highly renowned Csaba Petocz, who had seven No.1 singles with John Michael Montgomery. It was recorded on an analog console in historic Studio B at Capital Records, Hollywood, which gives it a warm, full sound so unusual in today's digital world. The record was mixed by the legendary Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, Bad Religion). The first single released from the record, "Red Flag," warns girls of all the things to look out for while looking for Mr. Right. The song, with its rocking beat and greasy guitar licks, hit No. 25 on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart in early 2007, and the video was No. 1 for multiple weeks on CMT Pure's 12-pack countdown. The current single, "Through God's Eyes," is No. 21 on the same Music Row chart and is being serviced to major market radio. Recorded in a style reminiscent of "The Band," it is an uplifting, true story about Cody's life, with verse 1 describing an old man shunned by the people from Cody's hometown, and verse 2 about Cody's father, who is serving a life sentence for shooting a man who was having an affair with Cody's mother. "Chosen One" is a groovin' outlaw country remake of the theme song from The Sopranos. "Sunset Boulevard" is a witty, tongue-in-cheek request by Cody to be Hollywood cool, to help him forget a girl that broke his heart. Cody is currently touring as keyboardist for Confederate Railroad and playing solo gigs as well. This CD, while an indy release, is loaded with major label talent, but without the over-commercialized constraints of the major label system. From start to finish, this is a quality record that will not disappoint you. Enjoy! -PLC Records
