“POLITRICKS & SOLUTIONS”
The Political Anthology of Cold Joon 2002-08
Cold Joon releases 6th studio CD.
The eclectic World/Pop music group has released their 6th studio CD, ‘Politricks & Solutions: The Political Anthology of Cold Joon 2002-08”.
The CD features two great, new tracks, ‘123456’ and ‘One Belief System’ in addition to seven existing songs that have helped define Cold Joon’s progressive political voice in the turbulent start of the 21st century.
The opening track, ‘123456’, has been labeled as the groups’ ‘best song ever’, with it’s trademark political lyrics and strong, haunting melodies combining for a powerful send-off to the mind-boggling incompetence and audacity of the Bush Gang. The song, sadly (or thankfully), is the final ‘Georgie Song’ and the band looks forward to brighter horizons and helpful solutions for our ravaged nation.
The second new track, ‘One Belief System’, is an upbeat, dance song about the simple observation that all religions cannot be definitive in the correctness of their beliefs. If you believe in ‘One God’, then that God has to be the God of all people. Religion was supposed to unify but today it divides us in to seemingly, unsolvable and incompatible armies.
The new CD also includes the epic, 18 minute original version of ‘I Didn’t Do It’ , which launched Cold Joon’s political music journey. The song, written in 2002 as the sinister motives of Bush/Cheney began to rear their gargoyle heads, remains remarkably prescient today. Every lyric in the song is still applicable in 2008, including the inability to capture Bin Laden (remember him?) and the societal stranglehold of international corporations.
Cold Joon has been a leader in positive, political consciousness raising and this CD captures the heart of their vision.
