Album Notes

Recorded in only 3 days at Feral Frequency Studio in Salt Lake City, The Call Of Crow is almost a live album. Sacrificing lots of over-dubbing and studio-polish for sincerity and chemistry, Honest Soul chose Jay Henderson (songwriter from 'The Band Of Annuals') to engineer the recordings, in order to capture and convey the mood and content of the songs.
This collection of songs is presented chronologically, as they were written, and centers around a love story; which makes it almost a break-up album. But not quite. The Call Of Crow is a celebration... of life, love, loss, and the lessons learned. It urges you to explore the details of not only it's own story but your own story, and keeps you bobbing your neck, even while you shed a tear.
Honest Soul is a 4 piece band featuring Colin Robison on vocals, keys and guitar; Brian Thurber on guitar; Steve Bauman on bass; and Darren Farnsworth on drums. Guest appearances on The Call Of Crow include David Halliday (formerly of Galactic, Fat Soul) on Saxophone, and Joe Chisolm (of SLAJO) on trombone, both contributing horn arrangements; Josh Francis (Orbit Group) plays trumpet, and Jeremy Abernathy (Fat Soul) contributes a couple Organ tracks.
