Album Notes

Collette is an R&B singer whose silky voice breezes over hard hitting beats... sometimes a gentle wind, at other times a hurricane of South Carolina soul.
The 25-year-old vocalist lists among her influences her gospel-singing mother, as well as Ella Fitzgerald, Bill Withers, Jill Scott, Amel Larrieux and Mary J. Blige – a list as varied as her own musical experiences. She began as a pianist and saxophonist in early childhood in her native South Carolina, and wandered into singing as a teen. After spending four years in college at Howard University, singing and soaking up the raw energy of Washington D.C.’s go-go music scene, Collette was finally ready to expose the world to her unique brand of storytelling.

Collette’s debut album “Experience Collette” dropped on June 5, 2008, featuring a sweet blend of Southern hip-hop and soul. Video from live performances and snippets of the album are available on www.ExperienceCollette.com, as well as artist interviews and more.

Collette has performed for television and radio as well as live concerts across the Southeast, and is now working to take her brand of soul to the world stage. Look for an upcoming promotional tour, and a release of Experience Collette album remixes in winter 2008.
