The Rights of Man

Colm was born in Dorchester in Boston of Connemara parents. His mom Gerry was from Tuirin and his father John was from Droim, Leitir Mor, which is where Colm lives now. Colm moved over from America a good few years ago now. He is currently playing and teaching all over the country as well as the US. On this recording the tunes are sourced from many places, mainly, old cylinder recordings from the late 1800’s to the early 1900’s, and the 78 recordings. As well as that there are many tunes sourced from rare home recordings and music that influenced him as a child. Accompanied by the great Alec Finn, on Bouzouki and Johnny “Ringo” McDonagh, on Bodhran, (members of the original DeDannan). He is also joined for a track of reels, by his wife Kelly Gannon, on concertina and John Blake, on guitar/piano. Colm has released many albums collaborated with artists Such as John Beag O’Flaharta, John Gannon, Jesse Smith and many more.
