Album Notes

The Colorful Quiet is the recording/performing name of Stephen Webster, a singer-songwriter originally from Jacksonville, Florida. Though he often performs live acoustic shows, most of his efforts thus far have been focused on writing and recording. Sounds of the Countryside, his 2nd album, was released in August 2007 and is an appropriate follow-up to "Sun". Many of the songs are a bit more 'country-folk', in part due to the fact that he enlisted a few musician friends to play such instruments as fiddle, dobro, and pedal steel.

beautiful and unassuming
author: Steven Elliott
This is just a beautiful cd. Simple. Unassuming. I was drawn by the name of the band, and it perfectly describes the music. My daughter was killed by a drunk driver and for months the only music I could listen to was Cloud Cult. Sounds of the Countryside was the first cd I could listen to not because it reminded me of my daughter, but because it made me feel a little lighter, a little better. I am listening to it now as I write this review, and it still takes me to a peaceful, blessed place. I don't know if that is a good enough reason for you to buy this cd, but I hope it is. I don't think you would regret your purchase, and Stephen Webster deserves a hearing.
