Album Notes

After releasing their critically acclaimed record, "Better Off", in the spring of 2005, the Gainesville, FL band Time seemed destined for a successful and busy year. Unfortunately, however, by the end of summer the band found itself without a singer and doubtful about its future. Thus began the exhaustive search for a replacement. At the recommendation of a mutual friend, the suggestion was made that they should get in touch with, former Melbourne singer, Alex Lawhon. The friend believed that the two would be a great match. Turns out he was right.

After meeting in September, Joe (bass), Dean (guitar), Steve (drums), and Alex (vocals) decided to see where this collaboration could take them. Accordingly, the songwriting and demoing process began and during these sessions Colourslide was born. The band is really pleased with the songs that have been spawned by this relationship and will get to test this new material in the studio when they rekindle their relationship with friend and producer Ted Comerford (Zox, Army of Me, Virginia Coalition) throughout this spring and summer. Colourslide is also excited to begin a friendship with artist, producer, and regular renaissance man, Ken Andrews (Mae, Pete Yorn, Jimmy Eat World), who has signed on to mix their debut release. As the band prepare for the record's release on Feb. 20th 2007, they are hitting the road to begin what they hope becomes yet another groundswell.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this artist. I bought this purely for Wake Up Call (ReMix) and was pleased to discover its a pretty good disc overall. These guys were almost impossible to find after hearing their song on ESPN, but the effort was worth it.
