Album Notes
Recorded, and produced by acclaimed songwriter and producer Andrew Baird at Orangotang Studios in Johannesburg South Africa, this is a CD you will want to have in your music collection. This Album is a follow up release to ‘He reigns’ and ‘Pemberai’ both released in 2007 and marks Comfort’s 4th studio CD.
Come Let Us Go is the first song on this CD and is an invitation to God’s children to come and surrender in the presence of God where, even the dead live again.
Let Your Kingdom Come is a prayer by the church to God, inviting the king’s domain to come and His Holy Spirit to have his way. Comfort wrote this song under very difficult circumstances, praying for a life or death situation whilst interceding for a friend who was battling cancer. Andrew Baird managed to transform this song into a joyful yet powerful prayer through song. Get up on your feet and join in the praise as we invite the Holy Spirit to come and have his way.
Dururai Mweya Wenyu (Shona language from Zimbabwe) means ‘Pour out your spirit’ and is Comfort’s revival song for the church. We cannot make it on our own, we need Him.
Draw Me Near is a simple yet powerful worship song for the church. When he draws us near to the cross and our sinful lives collide with his grace at the cross, our lives are changed and are never to be the same again.
The fifth song on the CD is ‘Vanoera ‘which means ‘Saints’. This is a fast Shona Praise song which is a call to the church to get serious for time has run out. You will love the beat and the vamp in the middle of the song where the percussion dominates. You just have to dance yourself to freedom.
Tenzi Huyai (Lord Come) is a worship experience, a powerful ballade. The theme of the song is found in the book of Revelation – ‘The spirit and the bride say COME’.
Track number eight is ‘Munamato’ (Prayer). Nothing is impossible with God when we get down on our knees and pray. This is a dare to pray as well as it is an encouragement to the body of Christ to believe that with God, nothing is impossible. The song ends with a spontaneous prayer after the Lord’s prayer recited in both English and Shona. This is a powerful worship song and should get you in a posture to pray and cry out to the Father.
The last song on the CD is ‘Undeserving’. This is Comfort Manyame just being ‘real’. Everything that we are and all that we have is because of God’s amazing grace.
