BAD FATHERS
www.rosemaryrecords.com

Bad Fathers, currently located in Iowa City, have established an extreme reputation based as much on their offstage performance as for their stunning live sets. Known for their rambunctious partying and frequent nakedness, they have still managed to self produce 6 releases since formation in 1997. Bad Fathers have performed all over the country with acts such as Ja Rule, DJ #0 of Slipknot, Rakim, Atmosphere, Pharcyde, Naughty By Nature, and Sage Francis. Bad Fathers recordings have featured DJ #0 from Slipknot, 2002 Scribble Jam Champion DJ Skwint, DJ Vadim, and numerous others. 2002's Swallow for Iowa vinyl generated a solid college radio buzz, charting as high as #1 on several national charts.

REVIEWS

A conscious, soothing collection of what talent lies behind Bad Fathers
author: Eric Bourdage
The jazzy reflective introduction is a nice first impression of what The Committee/Bad Fathers has to offer. What's a Mic In The Source?, featuring Felix and Animosity, is pulled off with solid breath control and smooth, consistent flow by all four emcees. Englert Theatre is another impressive track exhibiting serious talent on the lyrical level. It's actually reminiscent of Oukast's flow on the Atliens album. Although his appearances were brief, DJ Skwint came through with some quality cuts on the electronica/drum n bass influenced Hand That Feeds and Let Sleeping Dogs Lie. Tack Fu makes an energy induced appearance on the production of Raw, who you can also find on the Aberfoyle Springs compilation. Yeah, I Know an Asshole is definitely a track we can all relate to and brings out the lighter side of the LP. And for all of us who have the ball and chain waiting at home, Make Up Your Mind hits the target for couples and the issues of sharing living space. One may notice subliminal messages All in all, Throwing Chicken Bones At The Crackhouse is definitely a conscious, soothing collection of what talent lies behind Bad Fathers. Considering this LP was born from the depths of their living room studio, they deserve some serious credit and hopefully some more exposure in the very near future.
