Album Notes

Common Swift hails from Madison, Wisconsin, and was formed in 2008. The band consists of Brian Strutt (Guitar, Vocals), Parker Reynolds (Piano, Keys, Vocals), and Al Calderon (Drums). They have been getting good press in the Midwest and all over Europe as well, with the Isthmus saying “Common Swift is another welcome addition to Madison's new order of progressive rock.”

Their music draws influence from Radiohead, Grizzly Bear, and Sunset Rubdown. Capturing feelings of anxiety and isolation, their songs are crafted to highlight the disconnections of our modern society as their sound sweeps between unconventional musical elements, melancholy pop, and frantic rock. They are sometimes described as an “indie band with diverse progressive and melodic influences, with similarities to The Beatles, Jethro Tull, Teenage Fanclub, The Byrds, and even classical music.”

Their debut LP, “These Safe Homes,” was produced in their home studio in the fall of 2010 and their follow up EP, "Passing Spirit" was produced in the summer of 2011 in their home studio as well. They have been featured in Fireworks Magazine, Songshooter, Guitar Edge, Epileptic Gibbon, HeadbangersFM, and several other publications.
