Album Notes

RECORDING STORY
and about recording our debut-CD 'Red to Violet': what an adventure... we transformed a remote holiday house in Belgium into a 24 track working studio to record most of the songs for this album. the rest of the tracks were recorded and eventually mixed in a studio hidden in the woods somewhere in the south of Holland.

ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS
our 1st album selftitled 'Red to Violet' has been mastered at legendary Abbey Road Studios. we've been there and a trip it was indeed... as if the vibes of the Fab Four were still sense-able inside these studio walls. our debut CD has been mastered by Sean Magee, who also worked on projects for Pink Floyd, The Roling Stones but also newer acts such as, Kylie Minogue Pulp, Spiritualized

ON CD'S WITH NILS LOFGREN, EDIE BRICKELL...
as our debut was immediately pretty well received in the US, so we decided to continue to work in that direction and introduce more people in the US to our music. we received airplay on 400+ college radios with tracks from our debut 'Red to Violet' and were featured on compilation CDs with greats such as Nils Lofgren and Edie Brickell.
and our self directed video for Here I Am even won Viewers Choice on CN8... we won the Alt Song Award with our track Anyone for JPFolks independent Music Awards. and hey, we started selling albums!

Promising debut from Dutch duo
author: Kaysie, CDreviewsbyyou
As you can tell from the title, this is a debut album and as such it hints at the promise of even better things to come. The obvious comparision has to be with Eurythmics - sassy female vocals overlaying blues rock guitar. However, there's more to it than that - El has a strong voice but she doesn't substitute power for emotion. Onno's guitar work, while it hints at the tradition of Jimmy Page and Stevie Ray Vaughan, also has a melodic, fluid quality that distinguishes this band. A long album timewise but contains four potential singles, all of which feature the band's ability to tell a good story well. Best Track(s): Here I Am

A deep nerve and much honesty...
author: Gert Ove Fridlund - Hallandsposten, Sweden
'Red to Violet play fresh and rather agressive rock music, coloured by EL's powerful voice and Onno's both heavy and sophisticated guitar playing. the more heavy stuff reminds a bit of the old Led Zeppelin, but the album also offers a softer acoustic direction, that is working very well too... all in all, there's always a deep nerve and very much honesty in their music.' smoky tones
author: Cindy
Red to Violet has one of the best sounds I have heard in ages. The quality of the music on this CD is fantastic. R to V’s sultry tones lay mellow on the soul. I highly recommend this disc for your listening pleasure. And the t-shirt is pretty good too!
