Promising debut from Dutch duo
author: Kaysie, CDreviewsbyyou
As you can tell from the title, this is a debut album and as such it hints at the promise of even better things to come. The obvious comparision has to be with Eurythmics - sassy female vocals overlaying blues rock guitar. However, there's more to it than that - El has a strong voice but she doesn't substitute power for emotion. Onno's guitar work, while it hints at the tradition of Jimmy Page and Stevie Ray Vaughan, also has a melodic, fluid quality that distinguishes this band. A long album timewise but contains four potential singles, all of which feature the band's ability to tell a good story well.

A deep nerve and much honesty...
author: Gert Ove Fridlund - Hallandsposten, Sweden
'Red to Violet play fresh and rather agressive rock music, coloured by EL's powerful voice and Onno's both heavy and sophisticated guitar playing. the more heavy stuff reminds a bit of the old Led Zeppelin, but the album also offers a softer acoustic direction, that is working very well too... all in all, there's always a deep nerve and very much honesty in their music.' smoky tones
author: Cindy
Red to Violet has one of the best sounds I have heard in ages. The quality of the music on this CD is fantastic. R to V’s sultry tones lay mellow on the soul. I highly recommend this disc for your listening pleasure. And the t-shirt is pretty good too!
