Album Notes

Produced by Jack Saunders, "GO DEEP" encompasses the recent songwriting body of work from Texas singer/songwriter Connie Mims, offering a solid ten-song lineup of well-crafted tunes with memorable lyrics and melodies, ranging in style from Americana to Pop/Rock to even a touch of Rhythm & Blues. Penning the majority of the tunes, Mims also covers two tunes by Texas songwriters Mark Beets and Jack Saunders. Along with her outstanding vocal performances, some of Texas’s most notable musicians lend their talents to the production, including Jack Saunders on a multitude of instruments, Derek O’Brien (guitar), Riley Osbourn (keyboards), Rick Richards (drums), Eleanor Whitmore (violin), Chip Dolan (accordion), Rankin Peters (bass), Tommy Dardar (Harmonica) and David Spencer (guitar). With the release of GO DEEP, Mims re-establishes herself as one of Texas’s leading songwriters and vocalists.

CONNIE MIMS began her musical career in Houston in 1973 as a part of the acoustic group WHEATFIELD which evolved into the folk-rock band ST. ELMO'S FIRE, performing everywhere from the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin, Texas to The Troubadour in Los Angeles, to the American Festival in Chiba, Japan. WHEATFIELD was one of the first bands to appear on the PBS television show "Austin City Limits". You can hear her early work with WHEATFIELD on their CD, also available at CDBaby.com.

This entire CD is wonderful. It is so great to hear a true Texan singing true Texas music. Connie's voice is one that brings such emotion to anyone that listens to the lyrics of the song; you feel it coming from her heart. I am waiting patiently for her next CD and I know it will be worth the weight. God bless Texas music and Connie..
