ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Live Love Leave" is Conrad Korsch's intimate and haunting debut album as a singer-songwriter, showcasing his abilites on lead vocals and a variety of musical instruments as well as his beautifully atypical string quartet arrangements. Combining the poetic storytelling elements of Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen with the passion of Jeff Buckley and Damien Rice, this album contains 13 songs drawing on the human experience which, while deeply personal, are rich with characters and metaphors, engaging listeners to either relate their own experiences or simply observe from afar.

Also featuring Rosanne Cash + Joy Askew on vocals, Shawn Pelton + David Palmer on drums, Matt Beck + Thad DeBrock on electric guitars, Alex Brofsky on french horn, Antoine Silverman + Jonathan Dinklage on violins, Hiroko Taguchi on viola and Anja Wood on cello.

Some highlights since the album's release include:
* "I'M LEAVING" was featured in an episode of the TV show "ROYAL PAINS"
* "FIREFLY" live performance on the Jerry Lewis Telethon as duet with Kristina Train
* "FIREFLY" (featuring a duet with ROSANNE CASH) was set to original choreography by Andrea Kramer and premiered at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center as part of "The Butterfly Project", a children's cancer charity
* "WEEPING WILLOW" was chosen as the opening track for the Cape May Singer-Songwriter Festival's 2010 Compilation CD
* over a dozen Summer 2010 European Tour dates throughout Germany, Norway, + England, including 4 shows in London
* selections from the CD used as exit music after Rod Stewart concerts in 2009 stadium tour
* Sold-out CD Release Party concert at Joe's Pub in NYC

Refreshingly unique!
This versatile album, with splendid music, lyrics, and vocals, has a universal appeal to the human heart. At the same time, one senses a personal glimpse into the artist's soul. The more you listen, the more you want to hear it again and again. It's my favorite CD!

Live Love Leave
You absolutely have to listen to this CD two or three times. At first, it's a bit overwhelming that such a sweet, soulful voice comes out of Korsch. My son (who just returned from Iraq with the Army got it on the first listen). I guess his vulnerability emotionally put him on a level to understand the the deep meaning and metaphores put forward on this disc. I expect that this CD will continue to sell well; as it is a rare find.

Live Love Leave
Conrad is a not only a very talented musician, but also singer-songerwriter and this CD proves just that. This CD is different from what I expected. You notice new subtleties with each listen. This album is filled with charm, warmth and slightly melancholy grandeur, with an overlying theme of genuine simple honest emotion. Compassionate humour gurantees a memorable journey. A definite "must-have"!

Author
Conrad is not only a very talented musician, but has also proven to be an accomplished singer-songwriter as evidenced by his latest CD, Live Love Leave. This CD is very different from what one might have expected from this artist given his extensive training in the jazz field. Instead it incorporates poetic lyrics with charm, warmth and an inner sadness. Each time I listen I acquire an even more appreciation of this artist’s talents. Well worth taking the time to sit and listen to the lyrics. Highly recommend!

LIVE LOVE LEAVE
This is one of the most inventive and soulful albums I've heard in a long time. Conrad Korsch is a master of every aspect of songwriting. Great melodies, meaningful lyrics, interesting harmonies and VERY unique ideas about instrument combinations. His string arranging is expert. He could do just THAT as a career, so the fact that he can do SO much else is quite astonishing.

My favorite song is "The Last Sad Song". The chords and melody to this song are gut-wrenching. The arrangement is sublime. The way it builds up at the line, "Oh happiness, where have you gone" is incredibly powerful. It's my favorite moment from this CD.

My other favorite moment is the appearance of Roseanne Cash's gorgeous voice in "Firefly". Korsch brilliantly has her enter toward the end of the song which gives the song a spiritual lift that is surreal. The arrangement on this one could be Conrad's best on the CD.
