\"David Atwell is the musician and artist behind the project of Conscious Mind.
Composer, singer, and songwriter his songs and instrumentals consist of layered compositions of piano, keyboards, and percussion.

The instrumentals are a reflection of an emotional landscape of internal as well as atmospheric ideas that are more obscure while the songs are metaphorical expressions in nature of a spiritual, philosophical, and scientific inquiry of humanity.

His first instrumental CD entitled \"One \" was originally recorded in 1992 and then produced in Nashville Tennessee and released under the Free World Record label in 1997.

Since then David has been writing music for Conscious Mind\'s latest CD entitled \"The Source\". It is a double CD with twelve instrumental compositions as well as twelve songs written and performed by David with guest appearances from various musicians and artists including Dwight Dunlap and Beth Mankel.

\"Beyond\" is the instrumental CD exploring and expressing what is out beyond the borders of ones physical reality. It is a movement of up and out, a musical cosmological journey into the mystery of space and the heavens.

\"Within\" contains twelve songs with lyrics that explore and express the depths and recesses of the mind, heart, and soul. It is a look within the mystical, an expression of the inner experience, and an exploration of the connection to ones self.

The Source is Beyond and it is Within as well as Beyond Within. As one ascends into higher levels of consciousness and awareness the boundaries between that which is beyond and that which is within begin to dissolve as ego is transcended until one reaches a state of enlightenment in which all becomes one.

The Source is where it all begins, where thought forms the blueprint in which reality is created and manifested in the physical realm. It is a project and an expression of my inner and outer experience and those moments of awakening when the inner and outer merge as awareness shines forth in a brilliant state of love, grace, and bliss.

While it is difficult to label and place the music of Conscious Mind into any one particular category it crosses the borders of classical, ambient, electronic, and popular music.
