I came across with Steve Contes works when I was listening to the Cowboy Bebop Soundtracks and I instantly fell for his voice. I had never thought that those works could be surpassed - but the combination of rock, melancholy and lax feeling picked out of ordinary life as those musicians unearth on “bleeding together” definitely does!! The thoughtfully lyrics harmonize perfectly with the mood and the bass.

1. The start is a nice everything-is-in-order-song to seesaw with – but with a sowehow not so happy lyric. Beautiful contrast.
2. The second one is also propeling one – with its tempo as well as thematically.
3. Steves softest side. Without drifting away in houling or tearjerkerhe his voice carries the harmony of this “typical last bar song” (or at least it would be one if there weren’t the lyrics). The interaction and transition between bass and drums (carried gently by the piano) is simply brilliant!
4. Faster and more rocky than its forerunner. Wicked content … but so true!
5. To say: the same as before!
6. Very very inventive with its changing tempo and THAT combination of strings, flute, violin and the “ordinary” stuff of course like bass, eguitar, drums, etc. Shiver-causing (in a positive way!). Reminds of jazz. Steve exploits his voice remarkably.
7. Begins slowly and becomes chill rock. Great bridge/basssolo!
8. Very sarcastic, very different (style), very good.
9. A typical solid song from with the Conte brothers when you heard the cd so far. But another great bridge (and good lyrics).
10. Somehow jazzy & funky. I like it! It’s waking you somehow up because of its difference.
11. Another solid rock-work heading to the end of the CD.
12. A soft, hertbreaking song & amongst others a great demontrion for john’s great voice.

As you can see there is not a single song I would rate as a failure. The CD is quite diversified and shows great experience but also the courage to try out something new. Maybe that’s why Nr. 3, 6, 8 and 10 are my favorites =) Just BUY it, it’s worth it!

I first caught Steve from his Anime days, working alongside the beautiful and talented Yoko Kanno. Finding out he wrote his own sperate style of music, I had to check it out and I still listen to Bleed Together. And I also got interested in the New York Dolls.

I just want it because of the vocals who is Steve Conte u_ú but I must say it was more than I expected *-*, it has a nostalgic but cute vibe which makes me feel that kind of thing that you feel when one is extremely happy ^.^ ! Luv it!
