notes
For more than thirty years Pat Cooksey has been singing and writing songs. He began in the Folk Clubs of England, later moving home to Ireland where he performed with many of the biggest names in Irish Folk music, The Dubliners, The Fureys, and Jim McCann, to name but a few.
Pat is the writer of several of Irelands most famous folk songs including THE SICK NOTE- WHY PADDYS NOT AT WORK TODAY, and THE REASON I LEFT MULLINGAR, which have been recorded by virtually every major Irish Folk artist worldwide.
The original versions of both these songs are featured on Pat's C.D. WORDS, recorded in Germany, where Pat now lives, and where he has become a popular concert performer.
The C.D. includes several other previously unreleased songs, and with just voice and guitar gives a good impression of Pat's singing style.
CONCERT REVIEWS.
This was no ordinary one man and guitar concert, the packed
hall was with Pat all the way, with his mighty voice, and
sparkling stage presence, Pat Cooksey has won a legion of
new fans in this region- FRANKENPOST, GERMANY.
Pat Cooksey is totally at home on stage, this loveable big
child switches easily from sad ballads, to up tempo songs,
and his communication with the audience is truly amazing-

up to every word the press say about him, a great performer
and a nice guy- KREUTSWIRTS KELLER, HILTPOLTSTEIN,

Pat is a great live performer, the C.D. gives only a small idea of what he can do on stage, but still I play this C.D. every day, great songwriter.

i have alawys enjoyed pat especielly "the sicknote song"
GREAT songwriter, this C.D. is a real collectors item.
author: Sean Ryan.Pat's songs have been covered by just about every Irish artist around, to own a C.D. of the originals is something else. Mary Anne is not one of Pat's better known songs but one day it will be, a wonderful song.
Solid material.
author: Paul JenkinsHis specialty is songwriting. His guitar playing is pretty basic. He has a strong voice that could use a bit more variety in presentation. Overall, though, quite powerful. Grows on you with repeated listenings. "The Sick Note" is worth the price of admission alone.
not the kind of music ilisten to,but being of the same name its pretty good
