Co-op Bop,a Quintet, has developed through various combinations over several decades. They have literally played together since childhood and that fact is extremely evident in their music. Individually they have each performed with a virtual Who's Who of internationally recognized jazz artists. Allthough They have consistently played under each other's names sharing leadership roles, the group name CO-OP BOP is brand new. With a renewed sense of commitment, this album represents but a fraction of the library the group has ammassed over the years. just saw the group last nite, too bad for those who didn't make it. These guy will peel the skin of your face. Nelson Hill is probably one of the greatest sax players today, if you don't belive me get the cd and listen. Now that's not all because all the players could headline on their own, al gaumer on trumpet makes me smile with the tasteful licks, and craig k. on B-3 is an ever prescence in every song, let's not forget tom k. on guitar who challenges you to listen to see the journey he's on, and if you follow where he takes you will not dissapoint you. Holding it together with the sticks is Gary R., so good, oh and you won't find a bass player unless you look under the b-3. wait till you hear nelson on freddie freeloader play cannonball's solo, not on one horn but three, yes im told he nailed them in a row on this exception the the rest of the original works by these, under heard, for a lack of a better term world class jazz musicans, get it you won't be dissapointed.
