Album Notes

Originating out of MA and NC, Dan DiResta and
Chaucer Barnes met at Gettysburg College in 2002.
After a few sessions of talk-shop music and chordal
progressions, the two colleagues began to produce
an original sound. Having recently moved to Portland
OR, Copacrescent includes Dan on guitar, Chaucer
on microphone, Chris Ponti on bass, Steve Aman
on keys and Rod Nightingale on drums. The group
plays live hip-hop, infused with
everything under the sun.

REVIEWS

Impressive
author: IAM DOE
Copacrescent\'s 2008 release So Selective is on fire from from front to back. The group\'s MC, Chaucer Barnes, has some of the grittiest and thoughtful lyrics heard on wax in a long long time. Each band member is independently talented and brings their own distinct flavor to the album. If you like music that can make you think, pump your fist, and get you to break out your dancing shoes all in one listen then you\'ve come to the right place. Like a groove? These guys provide plenty. If you\'ve heard The Roots band from Philly your going to love the guys hailing from the other P-town...Portland, Oregon. Standout tracks include Spy Vs., 50 Ways, Portland, Jesus (Latino pronunciation), and The Times. Do your ears a favor and take a listen.
