Album Notes

Copal: Boston-based electronic ambient group combines traditional sounds and influences with electronic beats and soundscapes of the modern age.

Inspiring audiences with deep dance beats and original melodies rooted in traditions, Copal creates soundscapes with world beats and hip hop styles, interweaving string melodies and harmonies to paint pictures and landscapes. The audience travels with the performers, inspiring thoughts, movement, feelings, and creativity while incorporating Middle Eastern rhythms, dark Nordic melodies, Hungarian riffs, Spanish-flavored cadences, traveling from one end of the globe to another in an eclectic modern mix. Accompanied by tribal-style belly dancing and black light theatrics to trip hop and funky beats, the fusion is taken to a new level. Encounter Copal at one of their shows and experience a journey: "Like lucid dreams, the sounds of Copal will carry your spirit away..." www.copalmusic.com

Beautifully Hypnotic
author: Ashley
I remember first seeing this band when they came to my school in Boston. Within the first few notes, I was definitely drawn in. The band has an overall beautiful and hypnotic quality. Each individual is talented and displays a great energy on the stage. I was so amazed that I bought this right after the show ended. The album is beautifully put together and well worth the $10. It has a beautiful sound to it that, for me personally, brought back the beauty of the actual evening I went and saw them live.

I first heard this at burningman 2007. I was haunted by the unusual mix of melodies & instruments such that I was forced to purchase the cd . Now I play it over & over endlessly & still hear the songs in my head when I'm not actually listening to the cd . My family hopes for new COPAL songs soon .

Wonderful
author: Andy Frazer
I really like this band. They have (I think) an electric violin and and electric cello, backed by a bass guitar and drums (my apologies if I'm wrong). They produce this wonderful electronic, melodic sound that I can't stop listening to. I'm glad I found out about this band (through Flickr, believe it or not). Andy

versatile, inspiring, warm

This album is a wonderful collection of sounds and feelings. I have purchased a few copies at live shows for varying audiences ... my parents, my boss, and my close friends. The fusion of world beats and captivating strings is enchanting and well-constructed. Hannah on violin evokes feeling and her vision runs strong through the course of the music. Accompanying bass lines, beats, and cello contribute to a remarkable composition. I eagerly await their next release.
