notes
Producer, keyboardist, and songwriter Eric Copeland brings a soothing instrumental set of haunting melodies and quiet beauty that sets the perfect mood for prayer, meditation, and reflection.
From the first notes of “Prelude”, with it’s beautiful melody and pacing, you’ll be drawn into a world of solitude and peaceful relaxation that sets the tone for the title tune “Stolen Moments”, with it’s intertwining male and female vocal melodies.
Other highlights include a soft jazz version of the Carpenters classic “Close to You” in a version we guarantee you’ve never heard before, the soaring saxophone melody of “End of the Day”, and the gentle road groove of “Travel On”.
Copeland is known for his jazz keyboard work, but these songs show his reflective and emotional side.
Some songs just feature piano, including “Just for a Moment” which was a song played just once spontaneously, and recorded as is.
“That’s the way I do just about everything,” says the producer, writer and arranger for artists across the country. “My jazz nature wants to keep it fresh and not think it out too much. With my new age work, I try to keep it fresh and get the idea across without the loads of editing I do on commercial projects.”
With plans to do a series of piano-based projects in the near future, “Stolen Moments” is just the beginning of Copeland’s new age music.
“I’d love to do a piano only version of this project, but have plenty more songs in this vein to explore, and hope to get into a studio soon to record them.”
