Album Notes

The duet formed in 2007 and obtains its characteristic sound from the Greek bouzouki of Giorgio Cordini and Reno Brandoni’s open tuned acoustic guitar. Two different worlds and two solid artistic personalities met after important experiences with great musicians: That’s what makes their sound and interpretation unmistakable.

The long stay of Giorgio with the band of Fabrizio De André and with other songwriters, the experiences of Reno with musicians like John Renbourn and Stefan Grossmann equipped both with a consolidated technical fund, affined their musical insight and made them able to achieve the refined compositions which distinguish the duet.

Blues, song writing and ethnical calls melt in a series of fresh pieces with one outstanding peculiarity: the importance that both attach to melodiousness.
The emphasis they give to the melody when executing instrumental pieces is one of the basic characteristics of their music and respectfully involves the listener.

The brand new CD “Anema e Corde” is based on 10 compositions that both of them created and interpreted together and combined with a traditional lullaby from Brescia “A fa ‘l patos” and the Traffic masterpiece: “John Barleycorn must die”.

The unmistakable sound of the instruments played by Giorgio and Reno, creates uncommon ambiences both in rhythmical compositions like “Aspettandola” or “Danza in Lamosa” and in others more intimate and refined like “Anna” or “Se avessi tempo”.
