From his early days on a compilation record for 1040 KICKS (CKXY) with the song Alien, to current recording projects, Corey Primus has gone through many changes. "As a songwriter you need to be open to change and growth. I have tried to be open to that as a human being and as a writer. I think the songs reflect the journey of the individual as well as the craftsman."
His "journey" encompassed some important musical milestones such as opening for Canadian Rock Legend Burton Cummings as well as international recording artist Paul Janz. DIRECTIONS IN A FOREIGN TONGUE, his first full-length CD release was well received . The local radio station was very supportive and faithfully played two tracks, Never Again and Freedom. The song Dancing At The Devil's Door was featured in Music Showcase Magazine and was included on their compilation CD. Never Again was also a winner in the Write On songwriting contest and Freedom went on to receive a Certificate of Achievement in the Billboard Song Contest.
Primus' second CD was titled ANOTHER DAY AT THE FACTORY. "I recorded that CD with a friend at his home studio". The project was self-produced with the exception of two standout tracks, King Of Another Town and David In The Womb, which were produced by Vancouver veteran Rolf Hennemenn. The CD produced a couple of his own personal favourites, The Earth Turns and Jasmine. Primus performed Jasmine live with Juno winner Stephen Fearing at the BC Festival of the Arts.
After performing at the local Arty Awards ceremony Primus was asked to perform a song for the opening of the Western Canada Summer Games. His song The Way was used for the torch lighting ceremony.
Primus continues to mix solo and group work to promote his latest collection of songs, THIS WAS WHO I AM.
